What I like about the Ellery Queen books is they seem to be pure mystery and logic stories. There is not much that does not have to do with the murder investigation, so there is not a lot of beating around the bush. You are presented with a lot of facts, but most of them are intended to mislead you. There is always one crucial piece of evidence that allows you to logically deduce who the murderer is, but even though the author blatantly tells you what the key evidence is you will still likely be stymied! Definitely recommended for fans of mysteries and puzzles, but otherwise it doesn't have much to offer.
