I stuck it out for 105 minutes. Every actor spoke with all the passion and vocal range of Keith Carradine. The director decided to save costs by keeping all the scenes under lit, perhaps thinking it would make it moody or that it would be authentic to the era. Cynthia Nixon played Emile as a demented, egocentric, depressed and repressed woman. Lots of whining. The other characters were played as caricatures of characters rather than as actual people. Very disappointing.
