It was hard to like many of the characters in this story. It seemed many were wrapped up in themselves and had little consideration for others. Even though many would say the main character, Anna, was only trying to be her own person, she had many stubborn streaks when others tried to lend their help. The one redeeming character was Avery who had a great sarcastic wit about him, although, even he got sappy in the end. It was sort of a Cinderella story - from rags to riches, but it just didn't have the excitement of Cinderella for me. The other thing I noticed throughout the book was repetition. It seems you would learn something at the beginning, only to have the same story told again later. I wish the author could have done more than repeat character events.
