With this book we see Mr. Koontz's evolving as a sociopolitical creature, often including real aspects in his novels, he correctly, if very subtlely, shows the psyco-assassin from the privatized prison venue (the ideal preserve for the cheapest assassins conceivable), but drops the ball by portraying the standard "shadow government" ending, when the father-knows-best (or mother-knows-best) scenario, where the top politicians are really good guys after, truly a fictional concept. With his book, "Relentless" - - Koontz completely nails the real deal, in other words, REALITY writ large! (The common fictional fallacy, as also found in Stieg Larsson's "Girl W/The Dragon Tatoo" trilogy. Read Mr. Koontz's "Relentless" to see how he finally, firmly grasps reality as fiction!)
