"Jacob's Ladder" has been camped out in my personal top three films of all time since I was a tender young lad, so I'm a longtime fan & sympathizer of Adrian Lyne's. I can't say I didn't basically enjoy the film or some of his stylistic touches here, but it also seemed like every effort was made to portray the most demographically predictable characters you can imagine, down to the cuteypants paramour with the French accent & the impossibly large New York City digs. The sex scenes themselves were surprisingly not that riveting, so I was never really sure what was supposed to be driving the plot. Also take a moment to enjoy the special features chapter on how not to dispose of a body (!?). CR
