I completed this well-written novel and recommended it to several family members, because it was simply a very nice read. Not too complex of a read, but still descriptive enough that the plot and several subplots work together excellently to weave a very neat and intricate story. The main plot follows the adventures around the globe of naval attaché Pug Henry and his family in the early states of World War Two. Romantic escapades and dangerous incidents pursue each to deliver a unique adventure. The romance is certainly very PG in this novel, so it is suitable for all ages, and it could potentially be read in schools for students to understand the history of World War Two. The events of the war are incredibly realistic, and they are very educational. My only quibble is that the story ends very suddenly and the novel seems incomplete, but I understand this is fulfilled by the purpose of its sequel, War and Remembrance. :)
