A little bit of escapism simply for the description of the ranch but overall somewhat predictable.

An ok book. Some of the descriptions of things were repeated a number of times. Could have cut the book in half and you would still get the story line. Not one of her best and I have read them all.

I loved this book, but I agree with the others, I felt the book was a bit rushed at the end.
One other issue I had with it was that I felt there were to many redundancies or over-clarifications. I felt she could have used a better copy editor on this one. There was to many repetitive sentences, almost like she had forgotten that she had written the sentence previously.
Other than the rushed ending and the redundancies, it was a lovely book.

I can remember reading Danielle Steel novels from her first releases, and eventually drifting away as they seemed too formula, too predictable. I have to wonder - have all of her novels read like a really long term paper? I cannot believe how many paragraphs involved a summary of the information thus far. The repetition became annoying, and a delay to getting to the next level of the story. I did enjoy the "twist" - even though it came with some problematic questions to challenge its believability - but still, it took the story in an interesting direction. Yes, the end seemed kind of hurried - if there had been less summary sprinkled throughout, there would have been more time and pages to devote to a slower evolvement to the true summary! All in all, if you are a Danielle Steel fan, this probably will feel like a comfy pair of old slippers. For me, not sure I am ready for more of the formula.

I agree with you 100%. It seems like she is just phoning it in now and I can barely keep up with how fast she publishes books. I have been reading her since I was a teen and will continue to do so, but I don't like paying full price for a book that seems to be the same book regurgitated over and over.

A bit of a disappointment after The Wedding Dress. I had high hopes that Danielle Steel was back in the saddle on this one. Good characters with a ton of potential. Took her far to long to get it going though and then she rushed the ending leaving you with the feeling of she needed to meet a publishing deadline and didn't have time to fill in some of the blanks. Just not what I think of for an author with such a long career.
