Add a CommentVery bizarre and raunchy. The second season it better.
suggestion to OPL collection management. Most of us don't mind waiting a year to get some of the hottly requested items. But really, it's poor administrative oversight when there's numerous express copies available yet idle in branches during the pandemic lockdowns while 20 copies have been available soon for over fifty weeks now. I realise product delivery is out of your control, but smart budgetting might indicate it prudent to cancel them now that the queue has dropped from over 600 when I requested this. Agility and adaptability are the skills which have been and will continue to be highly valued in leadership and business, especially during and post-pandemic. Happy New Year. 31 dec 2020.
Edit 11 Jan 2021 Those twenty ordered items have arrived and at queue position 27 my request is being fulfilled. Just 268 holds outstanding with 50 copies in circulation so everyone will get this before the lockdowns are done, captive express copies and all. Well except for main branch express due Jan 29, they do "whatever they want" down there. According to the comments we all will have a huge laugh, if we can make it through the initial "disliking it" period, to which I'm afraid I may fall prey.
Absolutely brilliant. Loved it.
I heard about this show from a friend of mine who absolutely loved it. To be honest the only promo I saw was for the second second season with the "hot priest" and I wasn't so sure about it. So, I decided to start fresh from season one.
Fleabag( which I don't like the name) is a series about a young London women trying to live her best life. Being self employed is hard, but living to her family expectations may be even harder. She's a single woman trying to get a real connection with someone who accepts her, even though she already has good guy by her side. But he may be to sensitive for her and love is complicated in general. I love the interaction with the audience how she speaks to you and explains certain interactions. The show does have some tragedy to it and once truth is revealed in the end its easy to see why the show is named fleabag. But definitely a lot of laugh out loud moments. Its a combination of many emotions.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is very conservative or gets easily offended with language and/or nudity. I enjoyed it and can't wait to see the other seasons.
At first I hated it. I don't like when the character talks directly to the audience and she does this A LOT. But then it won me over and made me laugh. Give it a try. The episode with the cat in it was my favorite.
My wife and loved this show absolutely brilliant. Normally not a fan of British comedy but this was awesome. Very adult themes no kids but LOL all the time
Can't wait for season 2
I cannot understand why this won an award. Filthy and pointless.
Fleabag starts off the series with a punch of sexual humor and the main character speaking straight to the audience. You get used to this bit and its used with great comic timing and understanding to the character development. She lacks a lot of emotional maturity and makes a series a really bad choices - hence the title Fleabag. Not much to love at first but as the season progresses she wins me over.
Oliva Coleman as the step-mother avant-garde artist is priceless.
Totally want to see season 2, which everyone says is even better.
I turned the sub-titles on to get all the dialog as well. I find I'm doing this more and more.
unlike graybear3's disappointment, below, we were pleased to find subtitles *are* included, at least in the BR version; font is small. captions are always much appreciated, esp between nations sharing the same (but different) language.
We REALLY wanted to see this BUT it has no subtitles. With strong British accents it was too difficult to understand, because we have slight hearing loss. We don't know why anyone is making DVDs these days without the option of subtitles. NOT smart. Shame on them for excluding an entire demographic when the solution is so simple!
