Opinion
From Library Staff
Started off like a cracker, held my interest for the first few chapters then slowed. Too many different plots and not enough substance to make it worth reading. Mediocre at best.

Man I flew through this book - made the mistake of picking it up late and night, was up past 2am. A real page turner. This was my first Patterson novel, it won't be my last! I could have done without the soft-core porn (example: we kissed, it was the kind of kiss that got you hard in five seconds) that shows up a few times. A few of the plots were totally see-through in my opinion (who killed so-and-so and why I guessed before Patterson even started addressing it), and I think the cat and mouse with the Schoolgirl killings could have been much more interesting and the resolution involved a lot more of the evolution/revealing of motives for the killings could have been a much more explored part of the novel - it almost felt like they tried to include too many cases Private Investigations was looking into... but at the same time, that helped you feel the constant pressure these investigators were under. Overall, I was done way sooner than I thought I would be because every time I picked it up, I spent way more time than I had to keep reading - couldn't help myself.
Another page turner by Patterson. Easy and fast read.
This is the first book I have read in this series. A company that is employed by ex cops, marines and other highly qualified people and is run and owned by Jack Morgan has their work cut out for them when Jack is accused of murder. This is a page turner from beginning to end. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Enjoyed reading about a new enterprise of the Private security group and learning about South Africa a little bit.
Another great book!
This was a great book! If you want to read more of this authors books, you can start this series! Worthy of Patterson's readers! 5 stars!
Good read cant wait to read the whole series
Since this is the first book in the Private series it mostly focuses on the characters while Private solves 3 cases. It's a good read, I just wish that instead of following three cases and quickly solving them at the end, that they would have concentrated on 1 or 2.
This is the first in this series by the "Patterson Book Factory ", and I enjoyed it enough to want to read the second in the series at some point. The development of the various characters, and their relationships with one another is as much at the center of this story, as is catching the bad guy. Overall, a good easy read.
