The New York Times bestselling author of The 4-Hour Workweek teaches you how to reach your peak physical potential with minimum effort. Is it possible to: • Reach your genetic potential in 6 months? • Sleep 2 hours per day and perform better than on 8 hours? • Lose more fat than a marathoner by bingeing?   Indeed, and much more.  The 4-Hour Body is the result of an obsessive quest, spanning more than a decade, to hack the human body. It contains the collective wisdom of hundreds of elite athletes, dozens of MDs, and thousands of hours of jaw-dropping personal experimentation. From Olympic training centers to black-market laboratories, from Silicon Valley to South Africa, Tim Ferriss, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The 4-Hour Workweek, fixated on one life-changing question: For all things physical, what are the tiniest changes that produce the biggest results? Thousands of tests later, this book contains the answers for both men and women. From the gym to the bedroom, it’s all here, and it all works. You will learn (in less than 30 minutes each): • How to lose those last 5-10 pounds (or 100+ pounds) with odd combinations of food and safe chemical cocktails • How to prevent fat gain while bingeing (X-mas, holidays, weekends) • How to increase fat-loss 300% with a few bags of ice • How Tim gained 34 pounds of muscle in 28 days, without steroids, and in four hours of total gym time • How to sleep 2 hours per day and feel fully rested • How to produce 15-minute female orgasms • How to triple testosterone and double sperm count • How to go from running 5 kilometers to 50 kilometers in 12 weeks • How to reverse (S2(Bpermanent(S3 (Binjuries • How to add 150+ pounds to your lifts in 6 months • How to pay for a beach vacation with one hospital visit         And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There are more than 50 topics covered, all with real-world experiments, many including more than 200 test subjects. You don't need better genetics or more discipline. You need immediate results that compel you to continue. That’s exactly what The 4-Hour Body delivers.

Ferriss is pretty extreme at times, but a lot of the underlying suggestions in this book are great (and easily attainable) ways to get healthy!

This book is an over stuffed suitcase of interesting ideas lab tested on the author as a guinea pig. The negative reviews here seem to be objections on the basis of not liking something. If you have personal objections to the ideas, fine, go elsewhere. If you want to go with what is tested, come back here.

This diet section of this book is not for the faint of heart. If you stick to it, it does work. You will get incredible results You need will power to do it! I know some are crying becasue it may not be tailored to a vegetarian. That is why there are different diet options out there, if this is not for you, move along. However, I have tried this and it resulted in rapid results.

Skip this one if you are looking for a revolutionary new diet... this is just the same old low-carb Paleo garbage. It doesn't work if you are any kind of vegetarian, which in my mind it seems like a plant-based diet is way healthier in the long run than stuffing your gullet with greasy meat 3 meals a day. The workout section didn't inspire me either, except that I had never thought about using kettlebells before.
And is it just me, or does the section on sex and the female orgasm seem random and out of place, and even a little bit creepy?

What can you say? Is there any one in his fan base that has done anything he has done with success? I haven't heard of any. But, he makes you think and I have admired him for that since Four Hour Work Week.

7/24/12: UPDATE: I have gone from the 4 hour body plan to Paleo eating plan. To date, I have lost 29 lbs total. This is a great book for those who need to jump-start their weight loss but dont want to starve in order to do it! I highly recommend this eating plan to help get the first 10-15 lbs off, and then adapting a grain/sugar/dairy-free lifestyle.

This book should really be 3-4 different books. It is HUGE! That being said, the number of pages to help with weight loss is less than 100 pages.

I have been doing this diet for 3 days, and so far, I have lost 5 lbs. The first few days, I thought that the meals would be bland at best. I have already found some meals that I absolutely love on this plan.

I will try this way of eating for a month, and determine from there where I would like to go (most likely a more vegetarian-type diet).

People have been very sceptical when I inform them about what I am doing; however, it really isnt as bad as it seems. I am NEVER hungry, which helps me not to even crave sugar or carbs. I am a true, carb-o-holic! And my favorite food is ice cream!

After trying to count calories for over 15 years, this diet has worked well for me. Again, I will most likely start incorporating fruit and some carbs and balance it with exercise, but for now, this is working great!

I actually lost 20 pounds in a about a month an a half!! It was a struggle but the chest days really saved me!

Picked this because I started reading the introduction and thought what he said made sense. When I got into, however, I found the same old, same old. Yes, I suppose you can lose an awful lot of fat if you only eat beans and egg whites with some protein in there too. Nobody will want to be around you but you'll be skinny. The trade off for his one day of bingeing (besides a huge belly ache)? 5 minutes of squats and pushups before and after you eat anything. When did good health and well-being become punishment? Really disappointed. Two stars because some of the exercises in here were interesting, but not at speed before I eat pizza!

I think the most important message I received from reading this book is that you can make small changes in your daily life that will lead to changes in your weight. I tried the recommendation that you eat all you want of certain foods one day a week. It was pretty strange. I had a piece of cake and some potato ships for lunch and by the time the evening rolled around, all I wanted was fruits and vegetable. Take from this book the parts that work for you as a person and skip the rest.

I agree with the person below who states that the information in the book is not straightforward or well organized. Also, I find the "tricks" to losing weight a little "eating disorder" like. For example, giving yourself a BINGE day. I understand treating yourself every once in a while will keep you motivated, but that isn't what Ferriss is telling you to do...he is literally telling you to eat whatever you want, as much as you want once per week-- just drink a lot of water while you do that. Seems a little insane for me. I personally wouldn't recommend this book, there are others that are more health oriented and easier to follow: Skinny Bitch and Jillian Michaels: Master Your Metabolism.
