It is a stunning psychological thriller about a respected female scientist and the single irrational act that leads to her standing trial for murder. Yvonne Carmichael, is a married woman living a quiet life with her husband and two children. Her world is turned upside down when a chance meeting with Mark Costley leads to a passionate affair and a moment of shocking violence. Her only way out is to admit the truth, the truth that would destroy her family.

Unwatchable. How do they get women to participate in these projects?

Nope. Nothing original and some of the scenes are OTT.

If you are a sex addict this one is for you. Had to stop watching it. Yuck

Agree about the slooow pace. Interesting story about people making really bad choices; too much gratuitous sex. Emily Watson definitely redeemed this flick.

Don't think adaption from book to film worked that well. Slow and pace did not pick up which was disappointing. Think series could have been 2 episodes instead of 4. Was described as Psychological thriller.......not sure about that part either.

I found this hard to watch. I kept going, hoping for it to improve, but it didn't get much better. No problem with the acting, but it was very slow paced (as in "boring"). I felt that it was perhaps a poor translation from book to cinema.

Based on the novel by Louise Doughty, this is a great psychological thriller. Emily Watson is wonderful as Yvonne Carmichael, a woman who begins an affair with a mysterious man and ends up being involved with a murder.

A look at how one wrong move, affects the whole dynamic of your life. Slight twist at the end. Loved the book, and the film adaption was good. Would reccomend both the book and the mini series.
