Some 70 years after their imprisonment in so-called “comfort stations”, the three “grandmothers”—Grandma Gil in South Korea, Grandma Cao in China, and Grandma Adela in the Philippines—face their twilight years in fading health.
Great photography and editing go a long way in preventing the film from bogging down. The direction doesn't rush the telling of a horrendous time in history while allowing the personal stories time to develop. Hard to stop watching. Well done.
