I love AHS, (well okay, Asylum was okay, but not re-watchable). But this was not even watchable. What a HUGE letdown after Murder House, Coven, Freak Show and Hotel. Seriously, I popped out the dvd in the middle of episode 2 because I already felt I had wasted 1 1/2 hours of my time. Even if you have liked AHS before, (or ESPECIALLY if you have liked AHS before) skip this one. Seriously. What a waste of the available talent.

Horrible. The writers of this SHOULD be embarrassed. But of course, spectacle overshadows substance. This was so poorly written. I was laughing, more than horrified.
It was pathetic. What a waste of time to watch.

I'm afraid they've "jumped the shark" with this one! *Also, I miss Jessica Lang-

Highly disapointed. Gave up at the third episode. It felt rushed with a bad story line and badly done gore. After giving this season a fair chance (time wasted), I can say that I've given up on this series. The next season is being advertised on TV, but it's a No from me.

Very disappointing compared to the previous seasons. The people making entertainment these days seem to think we all want to watch torture now. What little story there is they just drag out, putting more and more scenes of chases, torture, violence, blood and gore, into all the considerable blank spaces. Enough! We stopped watching "The Walking Dead" last season for that reason. We'll stop watching "American Horror Story" too, if next season starts out this bad. A shame, as they used to be 2 of the better TV series. Made us feel that we were sick in the head for even watching and hoping it would get less, well, SICK.

Roanoke is the 6th entry in the American Horror Story anthology series, and this year is set up like an A&E paranormal docuseries titled My Roanoke Nightmare. The story follows what really happened to a married couple who lived in a haunted house on the land of the lost Roanoke colony. This change in format and style has made Roanoke my favorite seasons of AHS to date. With just ten episodes, the story is much tighter, the cast is cut back to a core group meaning that everyone gets strong development, it has surprising twists that I didn't see coming, and it is genuinely scary. I can't count the number of times I jumped or had to cover my eyes. I don't know that I'd be down for a re-watch anytime soon and the accompanying nightmares it conjures, but if you need something terrifying to kick off your Halloween celebrations early, Roanoke is the perfect series for the job.
