The show reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific, as beautiful as it is treacherous, unaware that they're crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

A rather gory and simple movie, the only redeeming qualities being the "good", or moral, characters (James, Mason, and Hank) and the effects. Still fun to watch, though.

This is an action movie that capitalizes on visual special effects and pays almost no attention to giving a quality story. Is it my imagination or did the female photographers (upper body) anatomy get bigger as the movie progressed? It seemed to me that it did.

To be fair, the title clearly indicates this is a giant monster movie so viewers should expect special effects and not high calibre theatre. Despite similarities, it is thankfully far better than the terrible 2012 film Mysterious Island (hardly based on Verne's novel), about on par with the Jurrasic Park films but nowhere near as cool as Pitch Black. On the whole, it wasn't bad and I'll let a few minor points beyond belief spoil themselves. There is a closing scene after the credits.

If you are in to giant monster fights, this is the movie for you! I was not expecting this movie to be like that, so I was kind of disappointed. It would have been better to have focused more on the culture of the island, in my opinion, rather than take up most of the time with giant monster fights. But the ending promised more giant monster fight movies - so if you like that, keep an eye out!

A thrilling adventure with an all-star cast! I enjoyed this modern take on the classic King Kong story, with fantastic visual effects and new twists. Makes you think about the way we respond to that which we fear, but ultimately is unknown.

Movie was good. I liked it. Final scene intriguing. King Kong must've had a clean-up crew,; ironically we were wondering, massive ape but no 'waste' lying anywhere on the island...;)

Looking forward to next chapter.

Delivers the goods (Kong's roar) in first 10 mins. Rest of movie pretty ok. Good popcorn movie.
