Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him, as well as everyone around him, as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

Excellent acting by McAvoy. Taylor-Joy is outstanding.

I liked this film...McAvoy was outstanding. While some of the senarios were a bit unbelivable(like location and instant realization of alters) overall it was good

Split is supposed to be a part of a "super hero" universe that M. Night Shyamalan created. The series started with Unbreakable and is set to continue in 2019 with Glass. James McAvoy plays a man with Dissociative Identity Disorder, so essentially he plays a myriad of different characters and is brilliant at doing so. While some things were incorrect in regards to DID, Shyamalan pushed the envelope by asking a next level question - what if one of the personalities truly believed they had super powers, would the person then have super powers? This was a pretty interesting movie from a psychological perspective and I am looking forward to seeing what else comes of this series.

Interesting plot. Great to see the different personalities come to light and well acted out. Love all of M.Night's works, especially 'Lady In The Water' (was my first). Any way very enjoyable and I would recommend it.

Watched about 20 or 30 minutes of this film but just could not relate to anything about it, which is why I did not actually rate it. Maybe I will try watching it again some other time.

There are great comments and synopsis below. See the comment by chriscoleman. I was fascinated watching James McAvoy transform from one personality to another. Well done.

I really liked this movie. One of the best I watched so far this year. Shamalayan redeem himself with this one from some unconvincing previous work. McAvoy does a great job as well.

Tons of quotes in IMDb but not:

DID P1 of 2:
One identity in an individual with Dissociative Identity Disorder can have high cholesterol. One. There have been cases where one identity is allergic to bee stings. The others are not. Are there moments where two identities can coexist at the same time? There are times when two identities can take the "light" or "the spot" or consciousness at the same time. This happened with a student that I was working with. And her left and right hand were taking notes in different hand-writings about separate things at the same time.

DID P2 of 2:

The differences in the identities can be dramatic. As much as the difference between you and me and every person in that auditorium. The identities have different IQ's. They have different physical strengths. One personality is a Russian weightlifter and can lift three times his body weight. Their ability to hyper-focus and have different experiences is astounding. Have these individuals, through their suffering, unlocked the potential of the brain? Is this the ultimate doorway to all things we call unknown? Is this where our sense of the supernatural comes from?
