I recently watched the movie Mission: Impossible. I really enjoyed the thrill and action in this movie. The cgi is very well done considering it was filmed in 1996. I like how well Tom Cruise plays his character Ethan. He did a lot of cool stunts and tricks throughout the movie which were very enjoyable to watch. The many twists and turns that this movie took kept you hooked. Watching this movie reminded me of ‘Spy Kids’ because this movie did seem a lot like a spy/undercover movie. Personally I think the best part of this movie was the music. It was suspenseful, yet was what had you at the edge of your seat. A great movie that’s different yet enjoyable to watch, I rate this movie a 4/5.

Released in 1996 with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) as the new generation of Mission Impossible spies. While dated but still gripping and thrilling today, the best scenes are the stunts in "the vault" and on top of the bullet train enroute from England to France. Excellent and engaging pilot for the 6 films in the MI series of blockbusters. Too bad that Jon Voight, Jean Reno and Vanessa Redgrave have not reappeared in any of the sequels.

Don't miss the Special Features on the spy gadgets in the Blu-Ray version: international spy museum.

Locations: Prague, London, Scotland, various US locales

What a great first entry in this film series. Overall, the suspend and film have held up very well. Really liked it!

Did a full rewatch of this movie last night. Man the tech and CG effects look bad and dated, and it was a little convoluted story wise. The series gets much better after this first film.

About as accessible as a De Palma film gets (and who even gets the plot of this film?), and a lot of fun.

Ha, ha, ha. This is so dated and lame. I won't even bother with the others. The original TV series was so much better than Tom Cruise could ever imagine possible. Oh yeah, that's why. It had imagination, which this doesn't, period.

Alright movie. Can't say I watched the original series. Didn't really make me a fan of the series, but it was an okay way to spend an afternoon.

Absolutely fantastic stunts and special effects - especially for its time. Still an exciting and action packed movie.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Impalement scene

Other: Mild language and violence, including stabbings and shootings, with a lot of blood. One person is crushed in an elevator shaft (though we barely miss seeing it), and one scene shows someone being briefly crammed between a forward moving helicopter and the ground. A lot of cleavage is shown in some points.
