Set in 1918, this BBC series is about a ruthless gang called Peaky Blinders running a book making operation in Birmingham, England. An enjoyable binge watch!

Enjoyable series with good acting and plot. Not recommended for children due to the violence and bloodshed.

Rated 6/10. Above average, but not sterling. Some good performances. While the series is based on a gang of the same name, we will see how the stories play out in successive seasons. There seems to be mention of this series going to a series 5.

Good atmosphere created, Helen McCrory highly watchable as always, realistic if gruesome violence, and good characterization. However, I watched four episodes and then gave up - mainly because as someone from the U.K. who has also lived in both parts of Ireland, I just couldn't tolerate the bad accents. A kiwi playing an Ulsterman, an Irishman playing an Englishman, an Englishwoman playing an Irishwoman, and English men from other areas trying to sound like Brums. Given that it's rather a good production otherwise, it just seemed senseless to have people bring down the quality of the programme by not having the actors at least capable of carrying an accent other than their own. Having said that, if you aren't familiar with the referred-to accents, then you'll most likely enjoy it and stick with it!
