This series is quirky but immensely enjoyable. The Spellmans have their own PI agency and their own oddities. Very enjoyable and highly recommended. I love the footnotes!

Lisa Lutz is always excellent, and this is as much fun as the other Spellman escapades. In documents one through four, we learn that two generations of Spellmans are insane, but now we know the previous generation (Grammy Spellman) is probably just as, or more, insane (and her actions as well as her genetics contributed to some of the other two generations of insanity). There is also some slowly unfolding evidence that the fourth generation (David's daughter) may be headed the same direction.
The underlying theme in this installment is should Izzy do what is "Right" or should she do what her (damaged and skewed) moral compass is telling her to do. This is a seven hour read, if you take time to ponder here and there.

well, they had to break up. it was a sacrifice, but hooray to Izzy for knowing what she wants & doesn't want.
had they stayed together, well, we couldn't look forward to another book.
this series is definitely on my 'go to when down' shelf.

Like all the Spellman books, this is a fast-paced, funny read.

As the 5th in the series, this was a must-read for me. Not the strongest in the series, but I do enjoy Isabelle and the Spellmans a lot.

Another hilarious case featuring the Spellman's. Looks like Izzy shows a glimmer of maturity here, but as usual. she makes sure it swings her way! Well done.
