Cat's Cradle is Vonnegut's satirical commentary on modern man and his madness. An apocalyptic tale of this planet's ultimate fate, it features a midget as the protagonist; a complete, original theology created by a calypso singer; and a vision of the future that is at once blackly fatalistic and hilariously funny.

This comment is specifically about the Audio CD version of this title. I simply hate Tony Roberts's narration of this title. His voicing of the female characters, in particular, is cutesy and condescending. I love Kurt Vonnegut, and had to return this title before I had completed the first disc, as I feared listening to it would sour me to the book.

Far, far better is Ethan Hawke's reading of Slaughterhouse Five; I highly recommend that.

As an Indianapolis native, it is hard not to like Vonnegut, one of the few literary products of our city. This is Vonnegut at his most creative and irreverent.
