Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 1844 :
Jordan Astraea is turning seventeen, which means she can no longer be accused of being a Weather Witch. On the night of her seventeenth birthday, the Testers come. They tell her family that she is a Witch, ruining her family's reputation.Since she is older than sixteen, her family is accused of Harboring. Jordan is taken away and her family is no longer trusted. Her mother, Lady Astraea, commits suicide when left alone. Her faithful servants, Chloe and John, take her to the Reanimator in order to bring her back to life. No one will take action to save Jordan, so her former beau, Rowen, dares to become the hero he would not have been otherwise.
