Aptly subtitled "strange stories," the eight superbly crafted tales share Hand's predilection for probing the translucent borderline between magic and reality. Another author who reminds me somewhat of Neil Gaiman. Shelved in SciFi, and there are supernatural elements to most of the stories, but they should appeal to readers outside the fantasy genre as well. I LOVED "Pavane for a Prince of the Air"!
