The first Sherlock Holmes letter barrister Reggie Heath answered cost him most of his personal fortune, and quite possibly Laura Rankin, the love of his life. But Reggie intends to earn all of it - the money, the career, and the love-back again. His latest client is the driver of one of London's famous Black Cabs, accused of murdering two American tourists. But while Reggie is working on that case, the letters to Sherlock Holmes are piling up-including one from someone who claims to be the descendant of Professor James Moriarty.

A good active/at times frenetic who-done-it but, I agree, not as well put together as the first. I do enjoy the premise and will continue reading this series.

As is so often the case, the second book does not measure up to the first. I greatly enjoyed Baker Street letters but this story fell a bit short. It started out good but the Last 50 pages things became a bit much.
I realize you have to make some allowances to reality for a story but there are limits. I'll give the author one more chance and see what the next book is like.

A very good book. I would recommend this book for all to read.

Too many painful American-thinks-this-is-what-English-people-say-and-do bits to be enjoyable.

This is the rare instance where the 2nd book is better than the 1st.
