This book is one of those books that you CANT PUT DOWN! It is such a good read. A very sad story in a perspective of a Jewish boy , to man who survived. The author obviously studied what he was writing . I recommend this book to anyone 9+ no matter what the age or amounts of holds. I also recommend buying this book also if you enjoy it as much as I do.This book is so amazing and a wonderful read. But warning, very sad , takes place in WWII

i so freakin love this book. but there were sad parts. like when jack gruener's parents died, along with his family. then he meets another guy in the amp, and he dies. then there's his uncle who died before he could get to the stash of money he found in a coat pocket. a LOT of people died. when i say alot, i don't mean a couple hundred. i mean like, THOUSANDS of people died. i would not read this book if you have emotion problems

This was a really good book if you want a rough idea of what the poles, jews and gypsies went through. This was a truly amazing sorry cause this pour boy went to not one or two concentration camps but 10 of them and he survived all of them even though none of his family did. This boy almost gave up cause when he saw his uncle at one of his concentration camps he told never to give up and that he can't tell anybody any personal information and that advice kept him alive. This was an amazing book and I totally recommend it.

I've read a few books about Jews and the camps they endured. This book is easy reading, large print and can be read quickly. Its another powerful book in what one boy endured, so horrible. I can't even imagine.
