Star-crossed lovers from two disparate planets fight for love against all odds in this romantic sci-fi adventure starring Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess. Adam (Sturgess) lives on a planet where poverty is the norm. Meanwhile, just overhead, Eden (Dunst) dwells in a world defined by wealth and luxury. Adam and Eden have been in love since they were teenagers, yet the rules that govern both of their worlds make their romance strictly forbidden. Beset by interplanetary border-patrol agents during one of their clandestine meetings on the mountains where their two worlds meet, Adam watches in horror as Eden appears to perish before his eyes. Ten years later, Adam learns that Eden survived the fall on that fateful day, and now works in the towering skyscraper that connects their two planets. Determined to declare his love for Eden even in the face of certain death, Adam hatches a daring plan to enter her world and challenge the unjust laws that regulate both of their lives.

Great concept and lovely visuals, but the story suffers from poor implementation.

What an excellent movie! I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're like me, and into cute love stories, you will enjoy this as much as I did!

Original and entertaining, however you must ignore science!

A very unusual film, and the strangest premise for a sci-fi story, ever. There are a few properties of this bizarre world that just don't add up, but if you let yourself get into the story, they don't matter. This is what sci-fi is really about: what if. This film touches a lot of issues; friendship, romance, loyalties, class prejudices, and sheer determination. The story has quirks, and the cinematography is as unusual as the story itself. Not for everyone, but if you enjoy sci-fi, and could use a break from lasers and aliens, it's definitely worth seeing.

If you like this concept, go watch the anime "Patema Inverted"
It's sooo much better! (Visuals, acting, fully-fleshed out storyline, less plot holes, more believable relationships, etc!)

Interesting movie concept. This film is a love story set in a place where there are two worlds separated by a gravitation divide. Keeping track of which world you are on is the challenge- as things that appear to be upside down could be upside right. Visually stunning!

A very interesting premise, good acting, amazing visuals but overall a so so story. Nothing special here or worthwhile. Skip it.

A visually stunning film, but that's about the only redeeming quality of this movie. Mediocre acting and a contrived storyline with many, many plotholes. Had alot of potential but failed in the long-run.

A visual wonder with two charming leads in Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess as the two lovers forbidden to have any life with one another, as a result of their being from two worlds and class structures. I found this, while mystifying in it's depictions of two worlds, both upside down and right side up to also be a genuine story with real emotion. Something you wont find often in today's cinema.

Visually stunning! The atmosphere of this film was Incredible--including the saturated deep blue tones in the lighting!! It was an off-beat plot device having the 'two planets intertwined by laws of gravity,' but somehow I found it to be very amusing. Took the typical romance story and made it different somehow. It helped to have the actors Jim Sturgess, Kirsten Dunst and Timothy Spall in this film!!! They all did a fantastic job. I even liked the character actors who played the sort of 'adopted family' for Jim Sturgess' "Adam." I also loved the soundtrack, which I thought helped to draw the viewer more closely into the movie. I'd recommend this one if you are a Jim Sturgess fan, or if you are looking for a story that is not the usual one for a 'boy meets girl' plot. I liked it for its creativity. And, the visual aspects of its "two planets/one world" are amazing!!
