I don't give 5 stars easily. This was an easy 5 stars. Caught my attention right from the first paragraph and held it right until the end. going to be reading the rest of his novels.
SECOND BOOK IN THE FBI Special Agent Carla Windermere and Minnesota State Investigator Kirk Stevens SERIES
read this book, before I read the first in the series. Makes me want to go back, and read the first. I liked the heroes, Stevens and Windermere, in this story, and I had no sympathy at all for the criminal. Like that the author is Canadian, though the book is set is set in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
I agree with everything Janice wrote. This is just dribble.
A very good read from a promising 'new' writer of crime thrillers.
Style-wise he reads like an earlier Baldacci, riveting/page-turning - I read it in two days!
Having read 'The professionals', I was looking forward to Laukkanen's sophomore effort. Big disappointment. ' Criminal enterprise' started well but too soon became more like a screenplay for a really violent action movie. Disappointing.
Fast-paced thriller. Some of the connections defy belief and latterly the violence seems gratuitous. Topical take on what people may be capable of when their circumstances change - what lurks beneath?
