One of my new favourite movies!! Not as confusing as all the ads and critic reviews left me to believe but such an original idea that I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Violence: Not much more violent than other action films w/ guns and grenades.
Violence: Some shootings (no blood) A man gets shot in the head (brief bullet hole, no blood) Some stabbings. Zero gravity fight scenes. Car crashes. Some blood but very mild.
"Don't you want to take a leap of faith? Or become an old man, filled with regret, waiting to die alone?"
"She locked away a secret, deep inside herself, something she once knew to be true but chose to forget."
Cobb: They say we only use a fraction of our brain's true potential. Now that's when we're awake. When we're asleep, we can do almost anything.
Comment
Add a CommentI always think of what George Orwell said about Wyndham Lewis (a forgotten novelist). "He has enough talent to set up ten writers--if only he had something to say". That's exactly how I feel about Christopher Nolan. His movies are such elegant objects, and they leave me feeling empty.
Where's Batman? I kept waiting for Batman to show up. He could have made this a lot easier on everyone. Ah, the mind is such a terrible thing.
Action movie with confusing plot. If 'too much is not enough' for action you might like this movie. It would've been better to show more of his life with his children and explanations of how he plans to return to his true reality, what the company he works for is about, what he has to do to get home. A lot of chaos with failed indications of what is going on. D' Caprio and other actors give great performances with great acting. Maybe it should've been directed by Clint Eastwood instead of Christopher Nolan.
Starts off with non stop action but it's too confusing. It should've started off with some explanation as to what was happening. Other than reading the library summary describing the plot, viewers will have a hard time knowing just what the heck is going on. Even for an alternate reality movie (like Avatar) it's too chaotic to understand. Poorly directed. What a waste of good actors. Ejected after 20 minutes.
super cool mind bending movie! we had to keep pausing and explaining what was happening for some people, but all of us enjoyed it. I love the characters, the storyline, the actors (leonardo dicaprio!!!) it was great!! definitely recommend
I saw this right after Interstellar, which I also rated low. Basically made the same way, but different sci-fi premise. Like the actors in this, and I've always been interested in dreams, but once again too convoluted and showy with the music/ special effects/ shootouts ( come on!) to
even get close to any sympathy/ feeling with the characters. Guess I don't like the way Chris Nolan directs movies.
This is a movie you want to watch all the way through, no breaks or distractions. Then have time to sit and digest what you just watched because it's that good.
Psychological crime thriller from Chris Nolan. Amazing soundtrack and surprisingly emotionally powerful.
It’s Different, unpredictable, an interesting science fiction.
EPIC!
What's your perceived reality?
Christopher Nolan is a visionary director of 21st century. You should watch all his films and admire the approach as an artist in film craft. I enjoy films that implore critical thinking and leaves it open to the viewer to decide.
