Michael Oher is a homeless African-American teenager who is from a broken home. Mike is taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, Mike faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome - as both a football player and student. Mike works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle.

I was pleasantly surprised by the film, having heard plenty about it over the years but never taking the time to see it until now. Packing comedy, heart, and heartbreak, this movie fits well in the feel-good category, with plenty of characters to root for. Stay tuned for the end credits to see the real Michael Oher and his family being featured.

A wonderful, contemporary fairy tale. Know nothing about football and have no wish to, but loved the film. I think it--the film--will have a long life.

Watched as Sandra Bullock's fan and because a friend's recommendation after a wait of three months for it in a line. Surprised this old movie is still that popular.
Enjoyed the acting and especially the character of Leigh (played by Sandra Bullock).
The movie itself was OK.
It was a relaxing, uplifting, positive fairy tale story. Suitable for bed time or if you just need to switch off your brain. Why I was not thrilled by the movie? Because it was too sweet, an exaggerated, unbelievable Hollywood blockbuster. Please keep in mind that a "movie based on a real story" is often times based on a fraction of reality. In the end I was not surprised that the real Michael Oher did not like this movie.
I was shocked how this movie portrayed Michael Oher, as a rather stupid man, living in poverty and on the streets. Michael Oher (as a movie character) suffered from childhood trauma and PTSD for ten years (since he was 7 years). No one even considered that his untreated childhood trauma resulting in an untreated PTSD may be the reason for his delay, behavior and bad grades. They blamed it on his IQ (when btw the IQ testing lacks validity and is absolutely not correct and should not be used for testing intelligence). I kinda see where the comments bellow were going.....Scary to think if several concussions add to Michael's PTSD.
I am against American football, since it is highly detrimental to health of the players (concussion). Wish Michael had a choice to chose different sport field. But it looked like he was just a puppet doing what others told him was best for him.
Had no idea that one can build a career on jumping half naked in front of crowds (cheer leading) and made living out of it. And they even call it a sport! Ha. Easy money lies in the football industry indeed.

I really enjoyed watching The Blind Side. It was heart-felt, inspirational, entertaining, and meaningful. The story line was creative and engaging, and all of the characters were very well developed and likeable. The plot kept me interested, and had a great balance of humour, emotion, and intrigue. This is definitely a feel-good movie, as well as an eye-opener, which makes this story very inspirational and deep. I like how it is based off of a true story, which makes the characters seem all the more real. I would highly recommend this film to other viewers – it is memorable, uplifting, and very enjoyable. 4/5

The Blind Side is a heartwarming movie that teaches the audience about the importance of hard work, family, and how the underdog can become victorious. The movie is based on the true story of football player Michael Oher. I enjoyed the movie and thought it was very eye-opening, showing me how overcoming obstacles can lead to beneficial results. There were minimal disturbing scenes, but overall it was a great family film. Be aware, the movie includes some cussing if you are watching with young children. I thought Sandra Bullock did a great job portraying the character of Leigh Anne Tuohy (the real-life character). Sandra’s impressive acting skills were one of the main reasons the movie was so enjoyable. In general, I think the movie is a great Friday night film to watch with the whole family. 5/5 stars.

This movie was a heartfelt true story about a football player Michael Oher this is a hard movie to watch without becoming emotional. This tear jerking film is an emotional rollercoaster with happy and sad parts throughout which makes it one of my favourite movies i love the fact that this story is true, which makes it all the more special I recommend this movie for an older audience so there's an easier understanding of what's going on I rate this movie 5 out of 5.

What a touching movie. The relationship between Sandra Bullock's character and Michael shows that unconditional love doesn't require biology. Michael's development and opening up to his community is beautiful and demonstrates the power of love.
