After the Russian Revolution turns her world topsy-turvy, Anna, a young Russian countess, has no choice but to flee to England. Eva Ibbotson is my favourite author. I have read all her books and a lot of other ones to but this is my favourite book ever! 4.5 stars

The original title of this book is more descriptive. The historical setting of Ibbotson's novels are educational, the read entertaining.

I didn't even get past the first two chapters. I felt the writing was too "sophisticated" for me and therefore bore me. But maybe you'll look past that and enjoy it.

A nicely written, hugely enjoyable adventure through a turbulent England in the mid 1900s. A modern fairytale suitable for all ages.
