The two main characters, Bowen a Lykae has such a ruthless intensity you have to love him or hate him. And Witch Mariketa is stubborn, sensual, and not about to let her current lack of immortality slow her down. The relationship between these two doesn't get off to a great start. Bowen traps Mariketa in a cave with deranged incubi and no food and Mariketa casts a spell on Bowen to steal his immortality and the ability to heal just as he's trapping her in the cave, the spell causes him to not heal during the race, wehre he loses several major body parts. Needless to say they are both a bit perturbed with each other when they meet up again. And just because all of a sudden Bowen rescues Mariketa and starts thinking that maybe she's his reincarnated mate, which would explain his sudden atrraction her, the problem how to make her like him now after locking her in a cave for two weeks. Mariketa is not in any hurry to kiss and forgive after what he's made her endure. But of course fate has its own ideas. The chemistry and attraction both physical and personal between Bowen and Mariketa was really well done. And that, along with plenty of action and some unexpected twist and turns as Mariketa develops the abilities to fulfill her destiny and Bowen grows past his prejudices makes this a very satisfying read.

Add a CommentBowen MacRieve lost his mate centuries ago. He has not been with another women. When he meets Mariketa, his feelings start coming back in full force. They both despise each other, but they can't stop thinking of each other and craving one another. They go through some dangerous journeys together, but he has vowed to keep her safe. An evil witch wants to hurt Mari and take all of her powers and the fight is on. I enjoyed this book from the beginning to end.
This was a fantastic book to read with two engaging, complex characters. I love that all the characters are incredibly engaging and easy to connect with, I can't wait to read the other's stories.
