Haley Graham is a rebellious ex-gymnast-turned-juvenile delinquent who is forced to enroll at an elite gymnastics academy, the VGA in Houston, Texas. The facility is run by the legendary Olympic gymnast Burt Vickerman. But Haley is not welcomed into the academy by the other gymnasts who despise her for walking out on her Junior Olympic team years earlier during a competition, costing them the gold medal. Vickerman takes it upon himself to coach Haley in his own way to make her regain her self respect just in time for the VGA's upcoming competition at the Gymnastic Nationals.

another competent performance from jeff bridges. seems like he never does too much. that would be over acting, and he does not. I hate it when they re-edit a film for the dvd. they have done that here. I would appreciate it if they would make an announcement of the fact: ' this dvd edited for content.' stick it on this dvd is substantially less than on the previous issue. only I, a long-time fan of the movie, and those who took out the shots, would know that. the new viewer should know that. does it seriously compromise the integrity of the dvd watching experience? take one of your favorite films, and watch the re-issue, that has been edited, with no notification of that event. maybe I wouldn't care, about your film, and vice-versa. but that's not the point, is it. suppose I had seen a biography of putin, in a theater, and I discovered that the library's dvd had edited out all negative references to the dictator. further suppose, that in the first version, there are scenes in a sauna in which putin fellates another man. but in the version the library bought, for whatever reason, those scenes were cut out, and NO MENTION WHATSOEVER WAS MADE IF IT. it's not the same film, is it. but how would you know? if you hadn't seen both versions, or if you were not the censor involved? why does the FDA make manufacturers list the ingredients on the sides of the packaging? because you want to know what you are purchasing. and, you have a right to know. because we have a democracy, still, despite all the 'identity politics' going on around us.

good entertainment. young rebellious chick movie but w/a flair of Disney keeping it on track and PG or 13.

While this isn't my usual type of movie I still found myself able to enjoy it very much. Missy Peregrym is very good in this and is as beautiful as ever. If your looking for something a little different from the typical teenage girls sports movie then this is the one for you.

After a run-in with the law, Haley Graham (Missy Peregrym) is forced to return to the world from which she fled some years ago. Enrolled in an elite gymnastics program run by the legendary Burt Vickerman (Jeff Bridges), Haley's rebellious attitude gives way to something that just might be called team spirit.
