Life is too short to waste on this film, trust me.

This movie is directed and written by playwright Craig Lucas. Even before I saw the credits it was apparent that this thing sounded like East-coast play dialogue for a vehicle set on the West-coast. There's a lot of betrayal and manipulation by all the characters--duplicity and mendacity all over the place. Its all a bit high-minded (the play part) but void of any real significance (the Hollywood part). Still, there's lots of acting going on, so all is not lost. Don't be fooled by the jacket's promise of steamy sex. Hooey. One stunt-double's ass cheek in repose is barely there.
