I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during these sessions. Seems that the producer was very directive with Paul, tossing out a lot of the songs that Paul arrived with. Instead he wanted some personal feelings from Paul. And he got them. They are quite a revelation, but they were not the type of deep feelings that we associate with 'a revelation'. Paul has feelings, but apparently no gut-wrenching angst. Yet, in his contented life, this would be his 'Plastic Ono Band' record. The music pulled out of him shows a greater variety and less pop than we are used to from Paul. But he is allowed a moment to be 'twee', and we love him for it.
