In typical Jordan fashion, the amount of description in this book is over the top. I often found myself skipping 3/4 of a page because it contained so much description of rooms/people/places you'll be in once. With that said, the plot is somewhat more focused this book, and Mat's story is really great. Beware of Elayne's plot, though - it's a bore.

This is the last book in the Wheel of Time series that Robert Jordan completed before his death. After the previous book, Crossroads of Twilight, brought the plot to a halt (800 pages of checking in with each character, seeing that nothing has happened, but hinting that something might soon), Robert Jordan has finally re-grown his ability to progress the plot. Although it's not the best written of novels, it's nice to see the plot we've been following for thousands and thousands of pages get moving again.

This is the last book that Robert Jordan wrote, and it's really good. However, fans of the series should keep reading! Brandon Sanderson did an excellent job with the next couple books! He really picks up the series. Keep reading!
