A devoted wife is stunned to learn of her politician husband's affair with an "escort" girl. She remains loyal in public, but her private anguish leads her to plot the ultimate revenge.
a poor man's "The Good Wife", set in the less familiar British political context, rather than American, with improbable psychological turns and plot twists, a mediocre script and, generally, pedestrian production values
See also The Politicians Husband by same writer following this one. Sometimes hard to watch & frequently I was lost with the strategies. Still, I find it so much better than drivel H-wood puts out.
So a right wing politician's wife takes revenge and becomes a right wing politician - but no detailing of their feelings/ideas about their really scurrilous work.
A cut-above PBS mini-series focusing on scandals and intrigues in London's Houses of Parliament. Bonuses include an intelligent performance by Juliet Stevenson in the leading role, plus a couple of surprisingly imaginative sex tapes, purposefully seeded into an otherwise typically restrained British screenplay. A young Minnie Driver excels in her role as the floozie.
This British drama lives up to the reputation of being the best of the best. The acting, directing, camerawork - all top notch and it's also a riveting story.

An arrogant, cheating husband has the good / bad luck of being married to a very smart woman. Revenge is sweet. Recommend. Kristi & Abby Tabby
All in all a pretty good flick. Although Minnie Driver is the headline name, she plays a relatively small role in the movie.

Juliet Stevenson is perfect as the devoted, hard working, under appreciated wife behind the scene.
