Sweet tale, with amazing child actors, giving a (fictional? realistic?) glimpse into dirt-poor life in Iran. I can only fault the ending, which seemed to be headed for an uplifting finale and then got stuck on bizarrely miserable. I don't insist on Hollywood endings, but this one felt wrong.

My favorite character in this movie is Zahra. In contrast to her brother, whose tearful eyes frequently gaze out at us and the adults in his life, she remains fierce and undaunted in the face of the disaster that is the loss of her shoes. This movie is sweet, touching, and is lightened by the delight and humor that colors the bond between these two siblings.

Majid Majidi delivers another little gem.

How can one pair of shoes knit a family more tightly together? Take a look and see.

A great simple, easy to watch movie. This is how brothers and sisters are supposed to treat one another. A nice change from the garbage coming out of Hollywood. Although you know the movie ends well, the ending needs to a little work. Well worth the watch.

My favorite movie of all time. I usually cannot watch a movie more than once. This one I watched 5 times and every time, there is some little nuance I missed. It is simply beautiful and uplifting.

a moving story worth watching. It's so touching how these sibling from this poor family care for each other and how unselfish they are. If only we have more of this kind of movie.

Beautifully filmed and directed, this little gem tells a story of love and dedication between a Persian boy and his little sister. Do yourself a favour and watch any film directed by Majid Majidi.
