Good movie. Had me absolutely bawling my eyes out at the end. Exposes the flaws of our Broken American, puritanical, system of mental institutions. It really made me worry about the people in there. Excellent acting, however, and the acting and the direction itself were superb, and make this film a sheer JOY to watch.

If only I was told many years ago, how much the world can sometimes wear you down.

Who is mentally ill? Anyone any doctor says is. Here is a link to a new mental health measure before Congress you really should know about. Read them and weep.

Definitely in my top 100 list of great films. There are few films as great as the book. This is one of them. If you haven't read the book, check it out. How could they have had nurses giving group therapy? She had serious control issues, Phew!

Absolutely great, but it kinda lost me in the middle of the movie. The ending was worth the wait, and Jack Nicholson doesn't fail to entertain, once again! :)

I really enjoyed watching this. I'm about to start reading the book - I hope it's just as good!

As someone who's been subjected to such places for little or no reason, let me assure you that things have gotten even worse. Now, even if there's no medical evidence at all, you can still be diagnosed as having whatever "disease" any mental health "professional" cares to invent. Everything's become a disease, whether anyone likes it or not. Back in the '70s, things were still clearly headed in this direction, but it wasn't yet so instantaneous & out of control...or perhaps it wasn't so "in control"??

Amazing movie adaptation. A few important details have been left out, like the focus on Nurse Ratched's bust, etc., but the movie was still phenomenal.
