I have watched several DVD's about the underground railroad. This one so far is the one I found to be most helpful. Though it does insult my intelligence in the first few minutes, carefully explaining that the UR was not rail, and tunnels as many people mistakenly believe. (really, do people believe that - or am I insulting them here...hhmm?) This DVD was helpful in putting together all of the pieces and helping me understand the timing and how exactly the: Seminole Freedman, Spirituals, Fugitive Slave Act, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Dred Scot decision, John Brown's Raid, and other events unfolded to create our country's early civil rights events.
