I really enjoyed this documentary. I wasn't sure what to expect but I will say I was truly surprised to learn of how he was encouraged by his father. Things certainly could have been very different and we would not have benefited from this artist's life work if he had a less supportive role model in his family. I think he wife was also instrumental in giving support - allowing his art/craft/career to bloom. Really liked the detailed story of a great artist and I had only enjoyed his art before and now I know the passion and influence he had on the world of photography and showcasing America's landscapes.

I don't expect to experience a better documentary film than "Ansel Adams" in my lifetime! To think that he lived during the time that I was on earth is an honor. To have been to Yosemite and seen both the valley and its surrounding first hand are memories I shall treasure. Ansel Adams was passionate about his photography. Driven to capture the beauty of what he saw in the cameras lens. He created techniques of developing his images that even the best photographers in the world were amazed with his work. Ansel Adams has left a body of work that will stand the test of time. It was an honor to hear his voice, to see him work and to see his amazing images. Thank you Ansel Adams!

To say that American cameraman, Ansel Adams was a "poet of photography" would truly be a gross understatement like not other - 'Cause this dude was, indeed, a genius behind the lens.

From the early age of 14 (following his first trip to Yosemite in the Sierra, Nevada) - Adams devoted his entire life to capturing the wondrous natural beauty of America on camera.

Through stills, interviews, and archival footage - This first-rate "Ansel Adams" biography documentary is a 100-minute presentation proudly brought to you by the PBS through their "American Experience" series.
