New detective to me -- pretty good read. I'll go looking for the next in this series. It reminds me a lot of Mad Max Maxwell, and the Bone Detective guy.

This is the first book in the Wesley Peterson mystery series. It combines a current day police procedural with a 17th century archaeological mystery. A very enjoyable read.
