There isn't much from Tom Robbins that I haven't liked but this one is at the top of my list, along with Jitterbug Perfume. Endlessly delightful, there just aren't enough words to describe the playfulness and intelligence of the ideas here. The plot is great too, but that's always secondary.
My least favorite of this author's books so far. I had difficulty staying interested in the storyline as it meandered and stalled a lot. Tom Robbins is, however, always entertaining and thought provoking and this book has many funny and interesting points. I've read and reread many of his other novels, but won't be reading this one again.
Hee hee hee. The main character of the book know the word for vagina in 72 languages.
Great book. The story is fascinating meaning you can't put the book down. The main character is both hilarious and thought provoking. He had me laughing every couple pages and at the same time forced me to think hard about a number of issues.
Either Robbins has become less interesting or may tastes have changes in the last 200 years (or both).
This book is awesome, it is different and fun and hard to put down.
