An album that has many components that are characteristic of Avril's music--there are sassy songs, heartfelt ballads and love songs. "Wish you were here" and "Goodbye" are particularly sentimental and touching.

Avril’s fourth studio album is a little bit different from the rest that she’s put out, but also similar. Avril mixes her original punk sound from her albums Let Go and Under My Skin with the pop-rock sound from her last album The Best Damn Thing and creates something new. In songs like Everybody Hurts and Wish You Were Here sound like they are heavily influenced by her punk sound but Avril stays with her modern pop-rock genre. Whereas in songs like ‘What The Hell’ and ‘Smile’ you very much so hear The Best Damn Thing sound in them, they also happened to be the hits from this album. Lyrically, Avril has always stayed in the same zone of being rebellious but poetic, it’s the actual music itself that changes per album. That being said, this album was a lot stronger than her last. 4/5 stars

I agree, this is probably Avril Lavigne's best album ever, and I was first in Vancouver to get this CD :)!! There are songs for everyone from the bouncy hit "What the Hell" to down to earth inspirational songs like "Everybody Hurts". Avril is definitely one of my favourite Canadian artists!! :)

Ilove this album I have the album form my ipod I espically like the songs Goodbye,What the hell,Black star (even though it was a short song because that was from her ad for the perfume) and Wish you were here

Great CD! All of the songs are great, and so is the lyric booklet! Since Avril is pretty bada*s, she does cuss several times, using works like "f*ck", "sh*t", and "b*itch." There's even 1 song that says all those words in the beginning of the song! But hey, I'm not complaining! She writes awesome songs!
