The voice of the narrator of this story about three friends and about a summer home seemed authentic and sympathetic. It is a novel about the healing power of love and friendship.

I enjoyed reading this book, mostly because of the sympathetic central character. In fact, all of the characters were believable in their faults and strengths, and the story is understated, often sad, and always interesting.
