Nothing Lasts Forever is really interesting pretty much from the first couple of pages. The book starts out in a court and we meet a young doctor named Paige, who is being tried for the murder of one of her patients. The prosectutor calls in witnesses who each share a bit of information about Paige and why they think she is the one who killed him. The book then flashbacks to show us how Paige became a doctor, met her friends Honey and Kat, and the other events that lead up to the trial.
This was my first book by author Sydney Sheldon but he has already become one of my favourite writers. He doesn't spend too much time describing every single detail of his settings and there is always something happening, and he has a way of making all of his characters feel real. The plot of the book is really entertainging as you slowly find out the truth about what happened and it is actually rather unexpected. The characters also all have unique personality, especially the 3 main characters. When Paige is introduced she seems cold and unlikeable, but as you see her story you relate to her more and see she is a hard working and sincere doctor. Kat is a character who has a tragic backstory which leads her to have a great hatred of men and Honey is a less than intelligent but extremely kind doctor. The only thing I didn't really like about this book was the ending, which was a little abrubt and tied things up a bit too clean even though everything was leading up to it and it did make sense in the end for me most part. But the rest of the book is excellent and I couldn't put it down until I finished it.
