First published in 1988, during the Australian Bicentennial. This reissue includes an introduction by academic and critic Don Anderson, first published in the 1993 reissue. This edition is published in uniform format with the reissue of the author's 'Bearded Ladies/Dreamhouse'. Author's other works include 'The Writing Book', 'Lilian's Story' (winner of the 1984 Australian/Vogel Award), and 'Idea of Perfection', winner of the 2001 Orange Prize (UK).
