My favorite of my annual October reads, A Night in the Lonesome October is a classic in that exceedingly rare genre: lighthearted horror. An excellent starting point for classic horror fiction and movies, as well as a good end point for the same, in trying to pick up on all the frequently obscure references. A great read!

My favorite Halloween read. Snuff's dry narration is utterly fantastic.

A "light" horror novel from the great Roger Zelazney. More humorous than scary, it is the tale of the sidekicks to some pretty familiar characters. You will be surprised to find out who the "heroes" are in this tale.

This book is cute and fun, put quite simply. It's certainly not one of his best, but it flows smoothly, features highly charismatic main characters who happen to have a wonderful sense of humor, and is a neat spin on Lovecraftian lore. Good light reading by the rain-struck windowsill on a night in the lonesome October.
