This novel is the third in the 'Prey' series and catches up with Davenport as he is chasing a killer that has a nasty habit of taking the eyes from his victims.
"Eyes of Prey" #3 book in the series was the best so far. Enjoyed the character development of the "bad guys" Bekker and Druze. The ending had a great twist as we found out more about who "Loverboy" really was and more subplot develops around Davenport's career. Author also did nice job of continuing the subplot of Davenport's baby mama "Jennifer" and there was even mention of the Crows from "Shadow Prey.
Lucas Davenport mostly redeemed himself from Shadow Prey in this quick read. He seems to have matured a little from the previous story. He didn't come across as the wealthy adolescent spinning giddily from one sexcapade to another. In this story, he faces a challenging foe, a drug-addicted psychopath. With so many Prey books stretching ahead I hope Lucas can spring free from his grand funk.
Lucas Davenport #3. Davenport has messed his personal life up seriously and could use a case to pull him out of his funk. Thank goodness Minnesota has another serial killer (or two) on the loose. While this book can be read alone, Silent Prey, the next in the series follows the killer through another series of murders.

Ack. I found myself hoping that all the characters in the book would please wipe themselves out and take their miserable Minnesota with them.

This is #2 in a series and I am returning it unread. Not a series I can get into.

Another Lucas Davenport winner.
