I personally enjoyed the John Puller series, I rated “The Escape” a 5. I am fascinated by author David Baldacci creative mind when writing his many wonderful books.

Contrary to several readers, I found this book quite interesting, a bit scary and also somewhat thought provoking. What a start - not knowing what happened to your mother who disappeared 30 years ago ! The plot here is more believable…

This was uncomfortable to read, and I definitely did not enjoy how violent Paul was. But it’s what he was deliberately engineered to be that was truly horrifying. And he was not the real monster, either. Nor was it his fault. I was also…

I don't care for this series or these characters as much as I do the Amos Decker series. I really wanted to like John Puller and the rest of this group but they just don't work for me.

Not so great from Baldacci. The plot is preposterous and full of holes, the story long and drawn out, too many "coincidences". If you skip it, you haven't missed a thing.

Another slam dunk for Baldacci! He never fails to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Well sort of makes the "implausible plausible" - I think I'd say he made the supreme effort to see how far the yarn would stretch. It's a good story - cottage chaise lounge grade - but I would not give this a 5 star can't put down rating.

If you like lots of plot, despite plausibility, this is a good fast read for vacation. The super-soldier verges on science-fiction literature and certainly provokes some moral questions about creating such creatures.

Baldacci took us on the usual road with all the twists, bumps and detours. It is an easy read and I thoroughly enjoyed it but it didn't seem to have the suspense as previous Puller stories.

Ummm, I read the whole book, but was disappointed. The beginning was slow. The plot somewhat easy to figure out. Some inconsistencies in the story line. Not his best.

The plot was garbage. I am pretty sure an 8th grade boy came up with it.

What can I say. David Baldacci never disappoints. This was another fabulous book. I highly recommend reading this book.

Another outstanding Baldacci book. Keeps your attention until the very end. Great read!

You will root for the bad guy since the government techies are so unlikeable. Baldacci has never been in the military or he would know no service would ever go after a hero general for any reason, especially one retired with dementia..

Another hit for David Baldacci.

Very different Baldacci book. I thoroughly enjoyed the change of pace. Even the bad guy (made bad) got a chance at life again. Good read.

All of Baldacci's novels with John Puller are interesting. This novel is a bit more sci-fi. It would make a good movie.
Dec 20, 2016gloryb rated this title 3.5 out of 5 stars
The story alternates chapters with two different storylines until these converge. I usually dislike this writing model as the story line changes just when I am getting interested in one of them. In this novel, the author has melded the…

Another excellent book by this author. He gives the reader what they want: action, suspense and the need to keep turning the pages.

Another good installment in the John Puller series. I enjoy this series and I like the mix of his job as a military investigator with his strong love and loyalty to his family. That being said, I feel like Baldacci is getting a little…
