I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this film. Opens your eyes to the world of our human search for significance within family. Clever and entertaining, as well as thought provoking.
I read the comments and expected to hate the movie but I was pleasantly surprised after watching it. Described in one word, I'd say the movie is "endearing'. It's clever in a quaint way. It's a movie you might watch on Father's Day as it's main themes are a child's instinct to know their father and a father's instinct to care for his children, even if the father is only a sperm donor. It's a feel-good movie with a unique message, one of Vaughn's best so far I think.
Deadbeat dads will hate it.
Don't waste your time on this Hollywood copy of an original French Canadian Film. The real movie is called "Starbuck". Unfortunately, American's do not like subtitles so they took a wonderful independent film and butchered it with a terrible acting and unintelligent dialog.
Don't watch Delivery Man, watch Starbuck!
Rated 4/10. This would have been a much better movie if it had been set up as a serious drama, not a half-baked comedy. It could have made for a very interesting show, as the plot had an intriguing premise. Then, the casting should have changed to some actors with good skills. It could easily have been an 8.
what wood you do if your husband sad he was the father of 693 kids + the one kid on the way with you wow now i wood say he must have the cash lol
This was almost a word for word remake of the earlier Quebec film. I preferred the Quebec version but this one was also ok.
“Delivery Man” can be summarized as follows: sperm donor tries to be a father and save the day. It is a predictable but o.k. movie.
I saw the movie and I had liked it I had laughed this is not for children to watch
Very nice movie, I found at parts it was extremely well written and it was always entertaining.. Nothing overly mind blowing but imho it is more than a movie worth watching, very well done
Awful film. Maybe whatever this was based on is more meaningful, but Vince Vaughn couldn't be more lame and and his character clichéd.
Not your typical Vince Vaughn movie. Easy watching, with some good laughs and a decent story. Worth watching.
It was an interesting movie. I thought it was going to be a comedy the whole way through. It took a serious turn. And also makes you think from both sides - the donator - wants his privacy and the childs - who want to know who. And then my side - that many kids not knowing who their DNA is from - with that many kids come from one person there is a chance that they could meet up and date each other not knowing they are actually related.
Well was hoping to laugh at this one wanted a good comedy. Well it starts off like its gonna be funny than turns more serious. But all in all it's a good movie. I was disappointed because I wanted to laugh. But enjoyed the movie as someone who was adopted I get it, wanting to know who your parents are. Watch this one it will be worth it
Hollywood remake of the 2011 French-Canadian film Starbuck, inspired by a true story per NYT's article http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/06/health/06donor.html?pagewanted=all&_r=1&
this was a pleasant surprise, I didn't have high expectations for this at all, but I loved it, it was touching and sweet, and subtlety funny. his lawyer friend was hysterical. so good.
Agree with reviewer below. Low expectations of the film and I was pleasantly surprised.
I expected an origin script from Vince Vaughn. This is the equivalent to Starbuck. The exact same movie, just with a different cast and no subtitles needed.
I saw the French version of this movie called Starbuck. Vince Vaughn did a good job with this touching movie. It was much better than I expected. Takes a while to get into it, but worth the watch.
Not a bad one time watch. I found it more serious when I was expecting more laughs from Vince Vaughn
Nothing major but sweet!
--**SPOILER ALERT**-- Better movie than I thought it would be. Turned out to be very sweet and had me in tears at the end (happy tears, so don't worry). Basically, main character works for his family's meat packing company as the delivery truck driver. His girlfriend is just telling him he's going to be a father, when he gets hit with a bombshell of the fact that he's the biological father of 533 people, with around 143 (if I'm correct) wanting to know who he is. All this because when he was 20, he continually went to a sperm bank for about 3 months and saved over $25,000 to take his whole family on a vacation to Italy (dream of his parents that they never got to do). He somehow ends ups at these outings that his children (mind you most of them are in their late teens or 20's) have set up so they can get to know each other better, yet no one ever really thinks to question him this whole time....just watch the movie. It was good, you'll laugh, cry and it will make you want to get up and go hug you mom and dad (first thing I did when I saw them right after I watched this)
