Eric Walters has yet again succeeded in writing a novel that caught, kept, and used the reader’s attention to tell a story that is so real and so close to us that we barely realize it. We've heard so much about war but never through a…

This book almost made me cry. Soldiers fighting for peace do so much for us that we hardly ever recognize, once again great job Eric Walters!

This book is my favourite Red Maple book so far. I really like POP and The Agency, but by far this is the best one. It is even better than the Silver Birch books last year.

This book was a very heart warming book. It was not your average story and it taught me that some people are not as they seem.

It is a serious book that envolves real life but it's fiction. It tells the tale of a wounded soldier, not wounded like lost a leg but wounded inside where it drives you insane. Eric Walters, Bravo!!! -Sarah

I must give credit that this book was very realistic and down to earth. It didn't sugarcoat anything. I liked that part. The thing I didn't like was that it was nothing like what it sounded like, and I think that it could've been taken…

I liked how the book described the current event about the war in Afganistan, and it truly shows how kids whose dad's are sent to Afganistan and would die or survive wounded physically or mentally.

Loved it. Being headed for the military, I thought it had a message that needed to get home. Not all casualties are the ones that died.

I think that so far this is my absolute favourite book. Usally books about war are not that great, and quite confusing. But this book was phenomenal, although the ending was kind of sudden this was by far the best book.
