I am a HUGE HARRY POTTER FAN, since childhood till now. There are 7 titles in total, where the last book is split into 2 parts. All of these series have already been made into movies, which in my opinion, is better to read all of the books FIRST before you delve into the films. Books generally have more details and sometimes certain parts of the movies are different than the novels - surprise, surprise!

This 3rd book is 1 of my favourites, especially the middle and ending became quite shocking for me! All of Harry's adventures were never dull and always filled with great surprises with his 2 best friends, Ron and Hermione. If you particularly love adventures, fantasy, magic, wizards/witches, and surprises, Harry Potter is the one recommended for you!

This has been my favorite so far. The main thing I didn't like about this one was how much they focused on Ron's rat and on Hermione having an impossible schedule. I thought the movie was alright but I liked the audiobook more. I am excited to see what happens next with Sirius Black.

What a continuation! The introduction of new characters, such as Remus Lupin and Sirius Black was just what the story needed. And with them come a deeper look at Snape’s feelings about Harry.

The story of Harry Potter gets darker as he goes back for his third year at Hogwarts. This is the beginning of the characters realizing that Dumbledore can’t solve everything. There is also a deeper look at the main trio.

This book is a great third addition to the Harry Potter series, and it promises that next year will be even better and darker. This book series grows with Harry, as well as its audience. Recommended if you want more of the Wizarding World!

In this series by J.K. Rowling, this was the book that made me realize that I was part of something that was going to go big. In this third book, you start to see the development of a plan - that extends a little beyond a young boy going after a singular bad guy over and over again. I loved the introduction of Harry's Godfather Sirius Black - who is one of my favorite multi-layered characters in the entire series.

Okay, once you place your hands on these Harry Potter books, it automaticlly produces a glue that sticks your eyes on to its self and your body on to whatever you are reading on. So caution, people, never read Harry Potter books on buses, subways, sky trains, etc. Mainly because you might miss your stop!

This book was so cool and very intense!!! Especially near the ending! There are tons of twists and unexpected stuff happening -- I understand now why lots people love this series so much! Can't wait to read the rest!!

This is the best book in the world!!!! Very interesting. I like how each of the characters are different. The time travelling part was cool. This book is the best. The Prisoner of Azkaban is the best book in the series!

Note - I am reading the Harry Potter books for the first time. Any expressions or opinions are brought to the table as someone who has little prior knowledge...

"Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is the third book in J. K. Rowling's prolific Harry Potter series. Here we are given a Harry Potter who has seen some things, and a wizarding world that gets more complex by the chapter. "Prisoner of Azkaban" is deeper than Rowling's previous two books in multiple ways. We have a great window into James Potter's (Harry's father) time at the Hogwarts School of Magic. These insights are given to us by previously established characters such as Severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore. But we are also made acquainted with new characters Remus Lupin (the new Defense against the Dark Arts teacher) and Sirius Black (an escaped convict from Azkaban Prison). These new characters bring a lot of twists and turns to the story plot, and the book is better for it.

"Prisoner of Azkaban" also first introduces us to hippogriffs, Sybill Trelawney (Divination teacher), and the iconic phrase "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." But my favorite thing about this book is that we are given better insight into the inner workings of Lord Voldemort's dark army. As Rowling continues to bore into the magical universe, the more treasures she uncovers. It gives me great encouragement to continue to explore these fantastic books.

In summery, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is my favorite in the series so far. It expertly shows how to broaden a world and consistently develop characters without it feeling played out and boring. I can't wait to get into the next one!

Wonderful!
Jim Dale creates a superb narration for this magnificent series.
The Prisoner of Azkaban is the third in this seven-part saga,
the first British fantasy novel ever to compare with Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.
And speaking of British, the UK audiobook is read by Stephen Fry
and is equally engaging and entertaining to Jim Dale’s version.
Highly recommended.

I enjoyed this book. It is well written and it is a very gripping read. JK Rowling effortlessly creates the Harry Potter universe out of nothing and manages to "sell it" to the audience, making everything sound wondrous yet plausible. The series starts rather innocently but begins to take a darker turn in later volumes. As a child, I remember being really enticed by those dark elements. With the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh volumes being notably dark and foreboding, I think this volume is significant in that it marked the transition between more innocent childish literature and regular literature. That increasing level of maturity was one of my favorite aspects of the series. Death, murder, torture, slavery, discrimination, prejudice, tolerance... the series masterfully approaches these topics in a charming but also serious way. I would highly recommend this series to parents looking to teach their children about prejudice, discrimination and tolerance.

The third book in the Harry Potter series is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This book is for any age group, but it there is a change of pace from the first two. Harry Potter is thirteen years old about to start his third year at Hogwarts when he learns that Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban prison. No one has ever escaped from Azkaban before. Not only that, but many witches and wizards believe that Sirius might be after Harry because he told Voldemort where Harry’s parents where hiding on the night they died. Even after being warned not to go after him, Harry is persistent on finding Sirius Black after he is spotted on Hogwarts grounds. With the help of his friends Ron and Hermione, Harry Potter will discover who the Prisoner of Azkaban really is. This novel is darker than the first two Harry Potter books, but even more engaging and captivating. If you enjoyed reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, you will definitely enjoy Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I would rate this book five out of five stars.

Although still amazing, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is my least favourite book in the Harry Potter series out of the first three books which I have read so far. I enjoyed the whole book and read it very quickly, but I got disappointed at the end. The ending was kind of all over the place and I finished the book frustrated with how some things worked out. Despite that, the rest of the story was very enjoyable to read and very fast paced. I liked how this book focused a lot, also, on Quidditch, because I really enjoy reading about the Quidditch games. I also liked the introduction of Sirius Blacks character and hope to read more about him. I think anyone who reads it will enjoy this book and I give it a rating of 9/10 stars.

This is one of my favourite books in the series. I love how in this book there is still that playful and childlike theme but it starts to get a bit more serious. This book for me was a perfect place of light and dark. There is a lot that goes on but it is not difficult to follow and it is overall an easy to understand novel. I love how this novel starts to get into more of the ‘darker’ themes and ideas but it still has that light-heartedness of the first two books. I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the first two books. I rate it 4/5.

This is the third book of the Harry Potter series. This is an awesome book as the intro is integrating as his cousins and his friends are bullying him. This is the part where some death seekers start chasing Harry and Dudley but Harry defends them. Harry's aunt and uncle didn't want Harry to go to Hogwarts. There was a dangerous criminal known as Serius Black. The tale is funny as the book starts off with Harry trying to find Black through his map to kill him, but finds out that all the accusations were false and that Black was best friends with Harry's father. This is the book where we are introduced to Harry's Uncle Serius Black. A really interesting book as Harry has now found some happiness that he never found before. But continue to read the next book, to see if it lasts.

I have grown up with harry potter, and watched the movies at age three or four. When I watched them, I thought there was no way the books could be better than the movies, but they where! I have read the harry potter series many times, and still the books never get old. One of my all time favourite books!
